Gareth Southgate resigned as England supervisor two days after they misplaced to Spain within the Euro 2024 last.

Gareth Southgate stated he was resigning as England supervisor on July 16 two days after they misplaced to Spain within the Euro 2024 last. 

“It’s time for change, and for a brand new chapter. Sunday’s last in Berlin towards Spain was my last sport as England supervisor,” he stated in a press release.

Southgate took over in 2016 when England’s fortunes had been at a low ebb. 

Within the final 4 tournaments he led England to a few semifinals and two finals. 

Previous to Southgate’s appointment, the Three Lions had reached simply three main event semifinals and one last of their historical past, once they received the 1966 World Cup.

“As a proud Englishman, it has been the honour of my life to play for England and to handle England,” stated the 53-year-old.
