Sunrisers Hyderabad assistant coach Simon Helmot counseled Ishan Kishanâs unbeaten 48-ball 94 and the batting unit basically after the staffâs 42-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 right here on Friday.
âIshan Kishan played a very mature innings. He certainly held the innings together for us. Our batters assessed the wicket, and we felt it was a very nice wicket to bat on and that a large score was required. So, we maintained that aggressive approach, but it was still important to have a batter in at the very end to ensure that we did capitalise on those last few overs. So, as a batting unit, we maintained the course.â
Speaking about his staffâs loss, RCB opener Phil Salt mentioned: âYou donât mind having this game not in the playoffs. Youâd rather have that now than you would in the Eliminator, letâs say. So, weâre going to get an opportunity to pick the bones out of it and have a look at things we did well and didnât do so well, and then come back.â
Salt, who made a 32-ball 62 in RCBâs 232-run chase, expressed his aid at having recovered from a fever and returned to play after a very long time.
âAs a group, weâve not played cricket until tonight in three weeks or so. And I donât think Iâve played in a month, which is a long time. So, more than anything else, Iâm just glad that I am healthy and feeling good, and going to play another game of cricket,â he mentioned.
