NEW DELHI: Tensions flared in Yavat village of Pune’s Daund tehsil on Friday afternoon after a social media submit allegedly triggered a violent conflict between two teams, prompting police to fireplace teargas shells to disperse an offended mob.Police mentioned a younger man from one neighborhood had shared an objectionable submit on-line, information company PTI reported.Violence broke out quickly after, with protesters reportedly vandalising property, hurling stones and setting a motorcycle on fireplace. “A mob vandalised structures belonging to the opposite community and turned violent. Teargas had to be used to control the situation and restore order,” a police official advised reporters, including that the youth who uploaded the submit has been detained. Additional safety forces have been deployed in the world as tensions remained excessive. Sandip Singh Gill, superintendent of police (Pune Rural), visited the village and urged residents to stay calm. “We are closely monitoring the situation. I appeal to everyone to refrain from spreading rumours,” Gill mentioned.
