The United States Air Force chief of employees introduced on Monday (August 18, 2025) that he deliberate to retire within the coming months, however didn’t present a cause.

The announcement by General David Allvin was a surprise, as he will have served simply two years out of the standard four-year project by the point he retires.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as the 23rd Air Force Chief of Staff and I’m thankful for (Air Force) Secretary Meink, Secretary Hegseth and President Trump’s faith in me to lead our service,” General Allvin stated in a press release.
