The Tamil film industry is in mourning following the sudden dying of actor and comic Robo Shankar, who handed away on September 18 at the age of 46. The performer reportedly collapsed on a film set and was rushed to hospital, the place his situation deteriorated.
Robo Shankar, born Shankar, earned his stage title for the robot-style dance routines that first introduced him fame on tv and in village reveals. Actress Simran remembered him as a performer who “brought smiles to millions,” including, “Prayers and strength to his family during this difficult time. Om Shanti.”
Actor Karthi famous the private toll of life-style decisions, writing, “It aches to see how destructive choices over time can erode health. A great talent gone too soon.”
Music composer Santosh Narayanan recalled Shankar’s early performances in 2003 as “inspiring,” whereas actor Vishnu Vishal pointed to their collaboration, saying, “Probably the most iconic comedy scene in my films… Without him, it wouldn’t have been this memorable.”
Fans and colleagues alike have stuffed social media with condolences, praising Shankar’s boundless humor and his means to gentle up a scene.
