Five folks, including three ladies, have been killed and 4 others injured after a tempo-rickshaw they have been travelling in was hit by a speeding SUV in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district, police stated on Friday (March 27, 2026). 

According to the police, the incident happened round 3 a.m. in Thatipur city of Gwalior when a speeding automotive hit the rickshaw from behind, which was carrying 9 members of a household.

Murar metropolis Superintendent of Police (CSP) Atul Soni instructed The Hindu that the motive force of the SUV, Aman Sharma, and his good friend Abhishek who was in the automotive have been arrested from the spot. 

Mr. Soni stated that an data had been obtained on the police management room about an SUV hitting a automobile at Thatipur bus stand after which a primary response automobile (FRV) was dispatched. 

“Even as the FRV was inquiring about it, another information came that an SUV had hit a tempo at a nearby highway. When we investigated, it turned out to be the same car,” he stated. 

The CSP stated that the tempo was hit from behind and crushed right into a tree, ensuing in the dying of 5 folks.

“They were declared brought dead at a government hospital while the injured are being treated. One person is in a serious condition,” he added.
