A meeting between the Trinamool Congress and the complete bench of the Election Commission of India ended on an acrimonious note on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) with both sides accusing the opposite of inappropriate behaviour.
While the Trinamool delegation, comprising its Rajya Sabha chief Derek O’Brien, deputy chief Sagarika Ghose, MPs Saket Gokhale and Menaka Guruswamy, alleged that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar requested them to “get lost”, ballot physique sources mentioned the Commission had requested Mr. O’Brien to not elevate his voice.
