Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University former Vice Chancellor and Ramanarayam temple’s affiliated tutorial wing Valmiki Research’s Director Hanumanth Lajapathirai on Sunday (April 19, 2026) demanded movie actor Prakash Raj to provide unconditional apology to all Hindu faith followers for hurting them with “derogatory comments on Lord Rama and His arrival to South India from North India.” In a press launch, Dr. Lajapathirai stated that Mr. Prakash Raj should learn Valmiki Ramayana fully and perceive its epic’s contribution to the society.
“The epic enlightens everyone and make them to understand the ideal role of the king, his duties, importance of Dharma in administration, family relations, cultural diversification and others. Mr. Prakash Raj should not make vague comments on Ramayana and Lord Rama in future. He must recall his role in Telugu movies such as `Sitammavakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ where he offered prayers to Lord Rama and made others to follow Dharma. In real life also, he should follow them and spread Lord Rama’s message which is applicable for people of all faiths,” stated Dr. Lajapathirai.
