Criticizing the Centre for the hike in prices of 19kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder, Telangana Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy mentioned that this is able to have a harsh impact on hotels, restaurants, cafes and streetside vendors.

He mentioned that the price now is over ₹3,000. As per the revised costs, efficient from Friday (May 1, 2026), a 19 kg commercial cylinder price was elevated by nearly ₹1,000 per refill. With this, the brand new price is ₹3,315, towards the earlier ₹2,321 per commercial cylinder, a rise of ₹994.
