The proud mom of seven-year-old Ishank Singh, who scripted historical past by swimming across the difficult Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka, stated on Saturday (May 2, 2026) that the feat was powered by months of rigorous coaching lasting seven to eight hours each day.
Ishank swam across the Palk Strait, a 29-km stretch, on April 30. He began from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka and reached Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu in 9 hours and 50 minutes.
