Mayawati states Akash Anand remains unready for major political responsibilities

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati announced that Akash Anand remains unready for major political responsibilities, stating that he is still immature and requires further political seasoning.
According to Mayawati, the decision aims to shield Anand from potential electoral damage resulting from opposition tactics. She cited the founding principles of party ideologue Kanshi Ram, noting that he permitted family members only to engage in party work while consistently opposing granting them official posts or electoral tickets.
The announcement was made during a high-level, all-India meeting of the BSP chaired by Mayawati in Lucknow on September 3, 2026.
During the meeting, Mayawati also addressed remarks made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat during his visit to the United States. She accused the RSS of maintaining a wide gap between its words and actions, advising the organisation to instead faithfully uphold the egalitarian and humanitarian constitution framed by B.R. Ambedkar.
The BSP leadership emphasized that the core objective of the Bahujan movement remains empowering the exploited classes into a ruling class, which requires capturing political power.
