âStay Hungry, Stay Foolish,â famously uttered Steve Jobs in his 2005 graduation speech at Stanford University.
Tamil Naduâs teen batter Andre Siddarth (19) emphasised the first a part of the phrase, talking to The Hindu at the CSK High Performance Centre right here on Tuesday.
âYou need to be hungry. For instance, I got 111 against Maharashtra (for TNCA Presidentâs XI in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament). I wanted to make it a double hundred that day,â he stated.
Despite scoring 612 runs from 12 innings at a median of 68 in his debut Ranji season (2024-25), he stated he wasnât glad along with his marketing campaign.
âKind of disappointed that we didnât progress (Tamil Nadu lost in the quarterfinal versus Vidarbha). I knew that I had scored five fifties (and a hundred). If I had converted that into two or three hundreds, then I would have been more satisfied,â he stated.
Jobsâ second phrase refers to preserving oneâs thoughts fresh and not loaded. Siddarth was instilled with Dhoniâs model of the phrase throughout his stint with CSK final IPL season.
âI had a chat at the Wankhede (stadium) during our team practice. And he told me just one thing â to stay calm. I thought that everyone says that.
âBut he explained to me that while being calm, one important thing is to try to keep your mind blank. And that is very tough. If not in form or not on song, itâs really tough,â he stated.
Siddarth stated he needed to stay hungry and fresh in the upcoming Ranji season.
