A gaggle exhibition titled Liminality is showcasing the artwork of 9 artists and consists of works in portray, sculpture and blended media. The line up of artists comprising Meenal Singh, Devika Sundar, S Ravi Shankar, Naina Maithani, Sandilya Theuerkauf, Gurusiddappa GE, Veenita Chendvankar, Siddharth Shingade and Janarthanan Rudhramoorthy throws a highlight on the completely different types of inventive expression every of them make use of.
According to Vivek Radhakrishnan, founder-director of KYNKYNY, every of the artists’ kinds are markedly distinct. “There is zero overlap or any chance for confusion among viewers as they move from one artist to the next; the surprise at something new triggers different neurons in the brain. Each artist’s work is executed in their unique style with their own materials, stories and interpretations. It’s a whole different experience, a new story, and that makes it quite exciting,” says Vivek.

The theme for this present goes past “curation for an exhibition”, as these are the artists the gallery has recognized and chosen to work with.
“When you work closely with an exclusive artist, a different kind of relationship evolves,” says Vivek, including, this includes a whole lot of house and freedom to experiment. “As a result, the artist is not afraid to try something unusual, if they have a new idea. The objective of a close working relationship is to promote not only authenticity, but also creativity. When artists know a gallery has their back, they are more open to trying the unusual.”
Vivek says the rationale for the title Liminality needed to do with the house that the artists had been in themselves — a time of change or a transformative part.

“When artists are trying new things they are quite vulnerable, as they don’t know what the outcome is going to be. Often, that is when some of their best work emerges. In that period of searching and experimenting, the artist too, is amazed by what they’ve done.”
“There is a sense of excitement and discovery; all of that comes when you’re in this space of change. When you put yourself in a situation where you allow for something to surprise you, you give way for something different or new to happen,” he provides.
Liminality consists of as many as 35 artworks by 9 modern artists on show at KYNKYNY until August 21. Entry free, Sundays closed.
