A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed atop a school constructing in Dhaka on Monday (July 21, 2025), killing 16, most of them youngsters, and injuring dozens, an official mentioned.

The incident came about at Dhaka’s Uttara space. The aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College campus.

β€œAn F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 p.m. today and crashed into the college campus soon after,” the defence ministry mentioned in an announcement.

β€œOur team has recovered one body. The Air Force has rescued four people with injuries and taken them away,” bdnews24 quoted Lima Khanam, responsibility officer on the Fire Service Central Control Room, as saying earlier.

The identification of the deceased is but to be confirmed. There was no data on the pilot.

The airplane crashed with a giant bang and instantly caught hearth, a fireplace service official mentioned.

According to police, firefighting items, ambulances, and air pressure helicopters rushed to the scene quickly after the crash. A trainer of the school mentioned that dozens of ambulances have been carrying the wounded to close by hospitals.

β€œThe plane fell on the gate and crashed nearby. Classes were in session when the plane crashed with students inside. The injured are being taken out one by one,” Shah Bulbul, a Milestone School and College spokesman, was quoted as saying by bdnews24.

According to the Dhaka Tribune newspaper, over 50 folks have been taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery following the crash.

Their identities weren’t instantly identified, however most of them are college students, it mentioned.
