A case of inflicting dying by negligence has been filed in opposition to Vedanta group chairman Anil Agrawal and others in reference to the power plant blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district two days in the past, stated Sakti Superintendent of Police Prafull Thakur on Thursday (April 16, 2026).
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Thakur confirmed that Mr. Agrawal had been named in the FIR registered on the Dabhra police station below sections 106 (inflicting dying by negligence), 289 (negligent conduct with respect to equipment) and three(5) (frequent intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
