President Xi Jinping urged all-out rescue efforts after a freeway bridge collapse on Friday in Shaanxi province in China’s northwest killed 11 folks, state media reported on Saturday.

The incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. (1240 GMT) in Shangluo metropolis on Friday when a freeway bridge collapsed as a result of a flash flood, inflicting some autos to fall into the river.

As of 10 a.m. on Saturday, 5 autos have been confirmed to have fallen into the water and 30 folks have been reported lacking, state media stated.

Xi stated China is in a crucial interval for flood management and native governments should take duty to boost monitoring and early warning.

China’s nationwide fireplace and rescue authority stated on Saturday it had dispatched a rescue workforce to the positioning that included 859 folks, 90 autos, 20 boats and 41 drones.
