India’s ‘Missile Man’ is heading to the silver display screen, with National Award-winning actor Dhanush set to painting former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in a sweeping biopic titled Kalam: The Missile Man of India. The movie was formally introduced at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

Directed by Adipurush filmmaker Om Raut and produced by Abhishek Agarwal (of The Kashmir Files) and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the movie may even characteristic a screenplay is penned by Saiwyn Quadras, identified for critically acclaimed biopics like Neerja and Maidaan.
The movie will hint Dr. Kalam’s extraordinary journey — from his humble roots in Rameswaram to his pioneering work in India’s missile packages, and finally, his tenure as the eleventh President of India. Inspired by his bestselling memoir Wings of Fire, the story goals to discover the scientist and statesman, but in addition the poet, trainer, and thinker.
