In 2025-26 (FY26), complete Electric Vehicle (EV) retail sales throughout Two-Wheelers, Three-Wheelers, Passenger Vehicles, and Commercial Vehicles stood at roughly 24.52 lakh units, rising almost 24.6% YoY — with each class delivering sturdy double-digit progress, in accordance to information launched by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) on Tuesday.
Electric Passenger Vehicles retail sales surged 83.63% YoY to contact 1,99,923 units whereas Electric Commercial Vehicles greater than doubled to 19 454 units up 120.57% to 19,454 units, with phase share almost doubling.
In passenger automobiles, market chief Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. clocked retail sales of 78,811 units, up 36% YoY, JSW MG Motor Ltd. turned the second-largest participant in this phase by retailing 53,089 units, up 74% whereas Mahindra & Mahindra retailed 42,721 units, up 407% YoY.
Hyundai Motor India and BYD India retailed 5,885 and 5,361 units rising 138% and 54% respectively.
KIA India and BMW India registered 794% and 124% YoY progress respectively by retailing 3,738 and three,537 units through the yr.
While Vinfast at 2,390 units and Maruti Suzuki at 1,426 units opened their account through the yr the automobile firms which reported de progress included Mercedes-Benz India, down 10%, Stellantis Automobiles down 71% and Volvo down 5%.
Tesla debuted through the yr by registering retail sales of 342 units.
Other gamers placing collectively offered 628 units rising 77% YoY as per information launched by FADA.
In the electrical business automobiles phase, Tata Motors remained market chief by retailing 6,023 units up 40% YoY.
Electric Two-Wheelers crossed 14 lakh units (21.81%), with EV share rising to 6.5% and March’26 alone clocking a file 9.79% month-to-month share.
In this phase, the highest three gamers had been TVS Motor up 44%, Bajaj Auto up 25% and Ather Energy up 82%. At quantity 4, Ola Electric de-grew over 52% YoY.
