NEW DELHI: Indian cricket head coach and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir has reportedly obtained a death threat from “ISIS Kashmir,” information company ANI reported on Thursday.
In response, Gambhir approached the Delhi Police on Wednesday, in search of fast motion.
He formally requested the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), in accordance with officers from the Rajinder Nagar Police Station and the DCP Central Delhi.
Gambhir has urged regulation enforcement authorities to take all mandatory steps to make sure the protection and safety of himself and his household.
The threat got here within the type of two emails on April 22, one within the afternoon and the opposite within the night, each containing the chilling message, “IKillU.”
This is just not the primary time Gambhir has confronted such threats. In November 2021, throughout his tenure as a sitting Member of Parliament, he obtained the same electronic mail.
In the meantime, Gambhir condemned the phobia assault on vacationers in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, which left 26 civilians lifeless.
Expressing his sorrow on X (previously Twitter), Gambhir wrote, “Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike.” The assault in Pahalgam is among the many deadliest because the 2019 Pulwama terror assault.
