The International Monetary Fund sharply diminished its 2026 growth forecast for the West Asia and North Africa to 1.1% on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) as war chokes Gulf oil and fuel exports.
Iran, Iraq and Qatar will probably be significantly hard-hit, the IMF’s World Economic Outlook warned, because it revised down its January prediction of three.9% regional growth this yr.
