India’s first FIFA Talent Academy for girls launched

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Government of Telangana signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch India’s first FIFA Talent Academy for girls on the Gachibowli Stadium Complex. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Telangana Sports Conclave right here on Saturday.

The nationwide federation, in coordination with FIFA, will lead operations, technical framework, expertise scouting and coaching curriculum. The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) will oversee infrastructure, logistics, schooling, monetary and welfare assist.

“This marks a defining moment in our journey towards equitable football development. The academy will inspire a generation of footballers who can dream of representing India at the highest levels. This is a strong step forward towards our goal of qualifying for the under-17 men’s and women’s FIFA World Cups,” AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey stated.

The academy will provide year-round high-performance coaching to 60 athletes – 30 boys (u-14) and 30 girls (u-16), with 10 gamers in every class hailing from Telangana.
