The Indian Premier League (IPL) will get a brand new champion on Tuesday (June 3, 2025) in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium after the much-awaited last between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Neither staff has ever gained the IPL.
In whole, seven teams have lifted the IPL trophy over the 18 editions of the annual event — one of them is the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. Two teams weren’t half of the event (Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans) when the league started in 2008.
RCB has reached the IPL last thrice (2009, 2011, 2016) however returned house with no trophy on all three events. Teams which have gained the most IPL titles
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have gained the most IPL trophies with 5 IPL titles every.
Mumbai Indians gained in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020, whereas Chennai Super Kings gained in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023.
They are adopted by Kolkata Knight Riders with three IPL titles in 2012, 2014 and 2024.
