ISRO signed a proper settlement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) for the transfer of technology for the manufacturing of Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLV), marking a major step in business participation within the house sector.

The settlement, the one hundredth transfer of technology settlement facilitated by house sector promoter INSPACe, was inked in Bengaluru by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and INSPACe with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which outbid a consortium led by Adani Group-backed Alpha Design Technologies.

The purpose is to finish the whole technology transfer course of inside 24 months from the date of signing the settlement, a press release from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (INSPACe) stated.

During this era, ISRO will present needed coaching and technical help to HAL for buying the knowhow of the SSLV, it added.

“With India’s liberalisation of the commercial space sector, opportunities are certainly growing. At ISRO, we have a dynamic technology transfer mechanism to realise shared goals,” ISRO chairman V. Narayanan stated.

He stated ISRO would information the HAL staff on the preparedness-to-flight tangent of SSLVs that might outline the subsequent section of deep-tech collaboration in house in India.

“ISRO, HAL, NSIL and INSPACe coming together for the SSLV technology transfer signals a vital leap towards this endeavour. It reflects the Government of India’s vision to empower the space industry and establish India as a global hub for affordable and reliable launch services,” INSPACe chairman Pawan Kumar Goenka stated.

He stated the settlement would permit HAL to independently take up the realisation of SSLV and cater to each home and worldwide markets.

“We are honoured to be in this league to scale India’s next big frontiers with the SSLV technology by partnering with ISRO, NSIL and IN-SPACe to operationalise it,” D.Ok. Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director of HAL, stated.

Mr. Sunil stated HAL would apply its engineering and manufacturing power to construct SSLVs, prepare the required workforce and progress in the direction of constructing a self-reliant ecosystem in order that India might provide common, cost-competitive small-satellite launches to home and world clients.
