The makers of Tamil star Vijay’s upcoming film, Jana Nayagan, launched the film’s first glimpse on the event of the actor’s 51st birthday on Sunday (June 22). The film can be launched in theatres on January 9, 2026, throughout the pageant of Pongal. Directed by H Vinoth, the film marks Vijay’s final outing earlier than he will get into full-time politics.
Titled ‘The First Roar’, the video begins with the phrase En Nenjil Kudiyirikum (to those that dwell in my coronary heart), the well-known line the actor-politician utters at the starting of his public speeches. The glimpse video introduces Vijay as a cop wielding a blood-stained sword.
“A true leader rises not for power, but for the people,” says a caption in the video. Anirudh Ravichander’s background rating comes with the point out of ‘Thalapathy’, the actor’s well-known moniker. Jana Nayagan is touted to be a political actioner.
The beforehand launched first look of the extremely anticipated film had the star recreate his iconic selfie from the units of Master in Neyveli in February 2020, whereas the re-evaluation featured the star wielding a whip, with ‘Naan Aanai Ittaal’ written as a tagline (‘Naan Aanai Ittaal’ is the iconic track of late actor-politician MG Ramachandran from his 1965 film, Enga Veettu Pillai.)
Starring his Beast co-star Pooja Hegde as the feminine lead, the film options an ensemble star solid that features veteran Bollywood actor Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mamitha Baiju.
This is Anirudh’s his fifth collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi, Master, Beast, and Leo. With Sathyan Sooriyan dealing with the cinematography, the film has Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, Analarasu as the stunt choreographer, and Selvakumar as the artwork director. Anal Arasu is the motion choreographer.
