As many as 15 workers have been trapped in an industrial tunnel collapse in Los Angeles’ Wilmington area, the metropolis’s hearth division mentioned late on Wednesday (July 9, 2025).
No accidents have been confirmed, in keeping with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The collapse occurred about six miles (10 km) south of the tunnel’s solely entry, LAFD mentioned, including that greater than 100 responders have been assigned to the incident.
“The City of Los Angeles has mobilized resources to the tunnel collapse in Wilmington,” Mayor Karen Bass mentioned in a put up on X.
