NEW DELHI: A person has been booked for allegedly tricking three women into marriage by falsely claiming to be a “widower” and an “excise department employee,” whereas additionally convincing one in every of them to take a mortgage value lakhs in her identify, Uttar Pradesh police mentioned on Saturday.
“Kiran, who had been a divorcee, alleged that she met Rajan in 2019. He falsely introduced himself as an excise department employee and claimed to be a widower with no children,” Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) at Robertsganj station, Kalu Singh advised information company PTI.
According to ASP Singh, Kiran and Rajan married at a Varanasi temple in 2022 and lived collectively for 2 years. During this era, Rajan reportedly persuaded Kiran to receive a Rs 42 lakh mortgage, saying it was wanted for building of a home.
Kiran filed a police grievance after studying that Rajan was not an excise division worker in Lalitpur, the place he claimed to have been transferred.
Singh confirmed that an investigation into Rajan Gehlot had been launched after Kiran, an assistant instructor from Sant Kabir Nagar, filed a grievance.
Further investigation revealed that Rajan had additionally married Sarita, a instructor from Ambedkar Nagar, in 2014. But Rajan’s relationship with Sarita, with whom he had a baby, ultimately turned bitter, main her to file an FIR in opposition to him on the Women’s Police Station in Ambedkar Nagar in 2016.
Similarly, a 3rd girl, Neelima Singh, contacted the police alleging that Rajan had deceived her into marriage by misrepresenting his job background.
