Mock drills in four border states on May 29: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and J&K on alert amid tensions with Pakistan

NEW DELHI: India is about to carry civil defence mock drills on Thursday throughout four states bordering Pakistan, together with Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. The drills goal to check emergency response coordination and civilian evacuation methods in case of cross-border hostilities or terror-related incidents.Government officers stated the train would contain native civil defence groups, police, catastrophe response models, and medical workers. The drill is meant to check emergency response coordination, civilian evacuation protocols, and inter-agency communication in case of cross-border hostilities or terrorist incidentsThe mock drill comes simply weeks after India launched Operation Sindoor on the night time of May 6–7, a retaliatory strike reportedly concentrating on terror camps and army infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation was a response to the phobia assault in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.India’s counter-attack prompted Pakistan to launch its strikes on Indian army websites and city areas. In response, India hit a minimum of 9 Pakistani air bases, together with radar and air defence models. After a number of days of high-intensity motion, Pakistan requested a ceasefire, which India accepted on May 10.
