Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel killed senior Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar, apparently confirming his loss of life in a current airstrike within the Gaza Strip.
Speaking earlier than parliament, Mr. Netanyahu included Sinwar in a listing of Hamas leaders killed in Israeli strikes.
Mohammed is the brother of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader and one of many masterminds of the Oct. 7, 2023, assault, who was killed by Israeli forces final 12 months.
