The National Medical Commission (NMC), in its newest notification, has deleted two essential provisions associated to intake of MBBS college students in medical schools throughout India. The clause within the Undergraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023 that “colleges seeking increased number of seats cannot exceed a total of 150 MBBS students from the year 2024-25” shall be deleted.
The notification additionally eliminated the restrict of 100 MBBS seats per 10 lakh inhabitants in a State or a Union Territory.
