Over 7,700 inmates, who escaped from various prisons across Nepal during the Gen Z protests, have either returned or been brought back to their respective detention centres.

Over 7,700 inmates, who escaped from numerous prisons throughout Nepal during the Gen Z protests, have both returned or been introduced back to their respective detention centres, authorities mentioned on Sunday (September 28, 2025) .

During the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, a complete of 14,558 prisoners had escaped the detention centres throughout the nation, in response to officers on the Prison Management Department.

Ten prisoners have died during the conflict with the safety forces, whereas 7, 735 inmates have returned to their respective prisons. Some prisoners have returned voluntarily, whereas others have been arrested by the safety forces.

However, 6,813 prisoners are nonetheless absconding from totally different jails.

The authorities has launched a hunt to arrest these prisoners.
