Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty drifted lower in opening commerce on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) as surging oil costs and foreign fund outflows unnerved buyers.

The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 208.84 factors to 77,094.79 in opening commerce. The 50-share NSE Nifty dipped 42.8 factors to 24,049.90.

From the 30-Sensex companies, State Bank of India, Eternal, UltraTech Cement, InterGlobe Aviation, Trent and Axis Bank had been among the many largest laggards.
