Ukraine’s Parliament voted on Thursday (July 31, 2025) to revive the independence of two key anti-corruption agencies, transferring to defuse the nation’s greatest political disaster since Russia’s invasion.

Lawmakers voted 331 to 0 in favor of the Bill, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted final week following strain from hundreds of protesters and prime European officers.

The measure now goes to Mr. Zelenskyy for a signature.

Last week’s measure by Mr. Zelenskyy to put the watchdogs beneath the oversight of the prosecutor common prompted an outcry from Ukrainians, the European Union and worldwide rights teams. It raised fears that the federal government may meddle in investigations and probably protect its supporters from scrutiny.
