Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi cited an Election Commission press release to claim that no formal request for a meeting had been received from either the Congress party or the INDI Alliance prior to the protest. Trivedi stated that Gandhi spent the day claiming he was being denied entry, whereas the poll panel was informed of his desire to meet only at 4 pm through the police Deputy Commissioner of Police.

According to Trivedi, the Election Commission maintains an established procedure requiring meetings to be conducted with a delegation of representatives rather than large groups. He said Gandhi insisted on entering the premises accompanied by 300 MPs—a figure Trivedi questioned by pointing out that the Congress party holds 99 Lok Sabha MPs and 30 Rajya Sabha members.

The BJP leader further stated that the Commission offered to send a senior official to the protest site to receive a memorandum, but Gandhi rejected the option. Trivedi alleged that the Leader of the Opposition expected the Election Commissioner to personally visit him, adding that even Parliament cannot summon the poll panel in such a manner.

Describing the protest as an attempt to create a spectacle rather than present a legitimate case, Trivedi said the events demonstrated that the Congress party openly propagates falsehoods.
