Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh have expressed pleasure over the 2 International Emmy nominations for their movie Amar Singh Chamkila, calling it a recognition of Punjab and its artists.
The Netflix movie, primarily based on the life and instances of slain Punjabi musician Amar Singh Chamkila, is nominated within the TV Movie/Mini-Series class. Dosanjh has earned a nod within the Best Performance by an Actor class.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences introduced the nominations in New York on Thursday night time, with the movie rising because the lone Indian entry.

Ali, 54, congratulated the film’s team, especially lead star Dosanjh, saying the film could not have been made without him.

In the perfect actor class, Dosanjh shall be competing in opposition to David Mitchell for Ludwig (United Kingdom), Oriol Pla for Yo, adicto (Spain), and Diego Vasquez for One Hundred Years of Solitude (Colombia).
