The Australian ladies’s cricket staff was on Friday (September 19, 2025) fined 10% of its match price for sustaining a slow over-rate against India within the second One Day International in Mullanpur (Chandigarh).

Australia suffered a 102-run defeat within the second ODI, their heaviest by way of runs on Wednesday (September 17, 2025).

GS Lakshmi of the ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction as Australia have been dominated to be two overs in need of the goal after time allowances have been considered.

“In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time,” the ICC mentioned in a press release.

“Australia captain Alyssa Healy pled guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing,” it added.

The cost was levelled by on-field umpires Vrinda Rathi and Janani Narayanan, third umpire Lauren Agenbag and fourth umpire Gayathri Venugopalan.
